Kinotavr film festival ends in Sochi

MOSCOW, June 13, (RIA Novosti) - The awards ceremony of the XVI Kinotavr Russian film festival was held here last night.

Pavel Lungin's "Poor Relatives" received the main prize, a prize in the "Best Screenplay" category and a check from Kuban-territory governor.

Nikita Mikhalkov ("Statsky Sovetnik" or "Councilor of State") and Konstantin Khabensky ("Poor Relatives") received best-actor prizes.

The jury did not award any best-actress prizes, giving diplomas to Ira Shipova, age four, in "Nanny Wanted" and Ester Gueten, 95, in "Poor Relatives".

Alexei Fedorchenko's "First on the Moon" was rated as the best film debut.
