Analysts of the Russian Finam investment company expect the number of bidders in securities via PDA to jump by the average of 30% in the near several years. Technologies to provide for such transactions are being developed.
By Finam's estimates, only 1,500 investors use pocket PCs to trade in securities in Russia. Twelve thousand bidders use PDAs to get stock market information, but prefer other means of trading.
In order to boost growth in PDA trading in Russia it is necessary to create fast and reliable channels of communication. Whether it be WiFi-networks in urban regions or GPRS in rural ones, traders want to be sure that a communication failure will not thwart a transaction. There is no such certainty today yet, the Biznes daily newspaper concludes.
