"We had a thorough discussion on the military-political situation in the CSTO zone of responsibility and in the neighboring countries," Lavrov said.
The discussion focused on the situation in Afghanistan, issues of post-conflict settlement in that country and cooperation on the global arena, he said.
According to Lavrov, the participants also discussed issues of European policy and cooperation with the UN.
"We need to discuss a series of documents determining the CSTO development in the near future. We also have to outline future efforts aimed to improve the military-political situation and partnership in the framework of the CSTO," Lavrov said.
Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan signed the Collective Security Treaty in May 1992.
