STRASBOURG, June 23 (RIA Novosti) - NATO is ready to discuss proposals from the Collective Security Treaty Organization on cooperation during negotiations here, NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer said Thursday.
"The NATO Secretary General will be here tomorrow. We will discuss these issues," Putin said.
Putin said the CSTO, which includes Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia, intended to build relations with NATO on a "bilateral" and "bloc" basis after a CSTO session.
Scheffer said Russia, which assumed the CSTO presidency Thursday, had addressed him with a relevant letter.
Scheffer said NATO had good relations with certain CSTO member countries.
