MOSCOW, June 23 (RIA Novosti) - Unique treasures from the Russian Depository for Precious Metals, including former U.S. President Franklin D. Roosevelt's presents to Joseph Stalin, will be put on display in the Kremlin starting Friday.
"An exhibition called "Tribute to the Feat" is opening in the Grand Kremlin Palace on June 24 to mark the 60th anniversary of VE Day," said Sergei Devyatov a spokesman for the Federal Guard Service.
"This is the first time that rare and unique objects of this kind, which have been stored in the depository, are being displayed. They are priceless from the historical and cultural points of view," Devyatov said, adding that exhibit features items that have never before been seen by the public.
The exhibition will feature rare objects from the depository of the Diamond Fund such as a diamond chain, the Star of St. Andrew the Apostle the First-Called, the decorations of St. Catherine and St. Anne and the St. George and St. Vladimir Orders.
The White Eagle Order and St. Svyatoslav Order decorations will also be on display.
According to Devyatov, orders and medals from World War II will be in the highlight of the exposition.
"The Order of Victory, the Marshall insignia and Marshall stars will be prominent at the exhibition," he said.
Another pavilion of the exhibition will display ingots and diamonds of historical importance that were named after renowned military leaders and cities dubbed as "heroes".
