"Fears concerning entry into the WTO are far-fetched, political and have no grounds," Gref said Thursday during a live videoconference with Geneva.
Gref called the WTO an instrument for penetrating markets.
"This especially concerns small and medium companies that are often subject to discrimination," Gref said.
He said he considers the exact date of Russia's admission secondary to the conditions of its entrance.
"When speaking about the date and conditions of entry we choose the latter," he said.
Russia hopes that its partners will support the chosen terms, Gref said.
"The deadline for the negotiations and the package of agreements depend not only on Russia's wish, but on the wish and political priorities of our partners," he said.
