DUSHANBE, June 26 (RIA Novosti) - There are no problems in Russian-Tajik relations now, Tajik President Emomali Rakhmonov said today.

Rakhmonov, who is in a country government retreat, said labor migration had been the only problem in bilateral relations. He added it had been resolved the previous year.

Rakhmonov said Russia participated in large-scale metallurgy and hydro-power projects in Tajikistan, such as the Rogunskaya and Sangtudinskaya hydroelectric power plants.

"Russia has greatly contributed to settling peace and stability in Tajikistan," he said. "It is not by chance that the general Tajik peace agreement was signed in Moscow on June 27, 1997," Rakhmonov said.

The agreement ended a bloody civil war in Tajikistan that had lasted for 5 years and killed some 100,000 people. It was signed by President Rakhmonov and opposition leader Said Abdullo Nuri. Thus, the opposition that got a 30% quota in the government and local power bodies, ceased to exist.
