MOSCOW, June 27 (RIA Novosti) - A prominent member of the lower chamber of the Russian parliament drew Europe's attention on Monday to the persecution of opposition leaders in countries that recently experienced "color" revolutions.
Konstantin Kosachev, the chairman of the State Duma's international affairs committee, told a Moscow news conference that Russia would continue to remind the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe about this, even though PACE had not adopted a resolution that Russia had initiated on the persecution of parties that had lost in elections, in particular, in Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan and Georgia.
Kosachev said more and more reports had started to emerge recently about opposition leaders being persecuted.
