VLADIVOSTOK, June 29 (RIA Novosti, Anatoly Ilyukhov) - The Bosei Maru, a research vessel that belongs to Japan's Tokai University, arrived in Vladivostok, Russia's Pacific port, on Wednesday.
The vessel brought a 120-member delegation led by Tokai University President Tatsuro Matsumae, said Far Eastern State University (FESU).
This is the fifth time the vessel has docked in Vladivostok. This visit is to mark the city's 145th anniversary and 150 years since Russia and Japan established diplomatic ties.
Japanese students will have a busy program in Vladivostok. A festival of Japanese martial arts will open at FESU's Management and Business Institute on Friday. On Saturday, judo and kendo demonstrations and friendly matches between Russian and Japanese teams will take place at the city's sports center.
