MOSCOW/LONDON, July 2 (RIA Novosti) - One of the ten fund-raising concerts, Live-8, in support of African countries will be held on Red Square, Moscow, today.

The headlines of the Moscow show will be Pet Shop Boys, and such Russian groups as Bravo, B-2, Splin, Moralny Kodeks, and popular singer Valery Syutkin.

On Saturday, fund-raising concerts Live-8 will also be held in other G8 countries (the UK, Germany, Italy, Canada, Russia, the U.S., France, Japan) and South Africa. The shows will feature Elton John, Sting, Paul McCartney, Madonna, Robbie Williams, groups U2, A-HA, and The Cure. Pink Floyd will reunite especially for the occasion.

Moscow is the last G8 city to join the initiative of Sir Bob Geldof, a famous British musician and public figure.

Twenty years ago, he gathered rock and pop stars for the Live Aid concert, and thereby raised about $200 million in aid for starving Ethiopian people.

This year, Geldof expects far more impressive results. The number of TV viewers watching all the nine Live-8 concerts is expected to top 5 billion, which is more than the audience of the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
