KALININGRAD, July 2 (RIA Novosti) - Russia is interested in partnership and friendship with the EU countries and its neighbors, President Vladimir Putin said at the celebrations near the Royal Gate of Kaliningrad."We are certainly interested in developing partnership and friendship with the EU, and with our neighbors," the president said. Putin said such rich infrastructure, natural opportunities, and proximity of European markets would undoubtedly encourage development of the Kaliningrad region.
According to him, Russia will continue to closely follow the development of its westernmost region, using political, economic and legal opportunities for the purpose.
Putin said this was a common holiday celebrated by leaders of all Russian regions. He said he was confident that new projects would appear along with cooperation ties, and new opportunities that will certainly help develop the Kaliningrad region.
