MOSCOW, July 3 (RIA Novosti) - Russia will support the UN reform which will not lead to the split of the organization, Russian presidential aide Sergei Prikhodko said Sunday.
The Russian, French and German leaders are set to discuss the UN reform at a summit in Kaliningrad (the Russian exclave on the Baltic Sea), he added.
Germany, Brazil, India and Japan launched a joint bid for permanent seats on the UN Security Council, Prikhodko said.
"Russia has taken a simple position - the UN reform should make the organization more effective and cause no split among UN members," he said.
"We shall back the decision which most UN member states will approve," Prikhodko added.
