Russia hopes to complete Bushehr NPP as soon as possible

TEHRAN, July 5 (RIA Novosti) - Russia is interested in completing the first reactor block at the Bushehr nuclear power plant (NPP) in Iran as soon as possible, Audit Chamber Sergei Stepashin said after talks with the speaker of the Iranian parliament. "Russia wants to complete the first NPP reactor block as soon as possible and launch new joint projects with Iran," Stepashin said. In turn, Gholam Ali Haddad Adel pointed to "Russia's high technological development level, which is becoming an essential factor of bilateral scientific-technical and trade and economic links."  He added that Iran was ready to continue consultations and boost economic and political bilateral interaction at the regional level.
