MOSCOW, July 5 (RIA Novosti, Cristina Rodriguez) - A delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) is set to meet with Ukrainian opposition representatives in Kiev.
The PACE delegation, including PACE President Rene van der Linden and the heads of five political groups, is paying its first visit to Kiev since the Orange Revolution.
Van der Linden said in an interview that Strasbourg was the second city after Moscow that President Viktor Yushchenko had visited following his inauguration. He added that PACE was interested in democratic developments in Ukraine and intended to examine the situation in the country.
The PACE delegates are scheduled to meet with the Ukrainian prime minister, foreign minister and parliamentarians during their two-day visit.
RIA Novosti learned that a report on the situation in Ukraine will be presented during the PACE session this fall.
