Russia's IQ Marketing agency won a Gold Lion in the Media Lions nomination for its advertising campaign for Beslan children, called Painting the City. Thousands of children painted schools and the main square of their town, which lived through the tragic school siege last September.
In the past decade, Russia's advertising market has increased by more than 50 times. According to the expert board of the Russian Association of Communication Agencies, the advertising market was worth $3.85 billion in 2004, a 33% increase on the previous year.
More than 22,000 works from 81 countries participated in the festival. Russia was represented by 45 works of various genres.
In all, Russia has won a Silver and four Bronze Lions in 16 years.
