KALININGRAD, July 5 (RIA Novosti, Anatoly Nilov) - A Swedish military delegation arrived in Kaliningrad, the home of the Russia's Baltic Sea Fleet, on a three-day visit, a spokesman for the fleet said Tuesday.
The spokesman said, "Military cooperation between the Baltic Fleet and Swedish Armed Forces is developing well." He added that Colonel Goran Boijsen, the commander of Sweden's southern military district, was heading the delegation.
"This year a delegation of the Baltic Fleet marines visited the 4th regiment of the Swedish Armed Forces. In June, after the Baltops-2005 international military-naval exercise, the Baltic Sea Fleet's amphibious assault ship, the Kaliningrad, paid an unofficial visit to Swedish port of Goteborg," the spokesman added.
He continued that the program of the Swedish delegation's visit included a meeting with the commanders of coast defense troops and the Baltic Fleet marines. "The delegates will also see combat training, the everyday life of sailors, will visit battleships and participate in the culture program as well," the spokesman said.
