MAKHACHKALA, July 6 (RIA Novosti) - The leader of an underground terrorist group, Rasul Makasharipov, was killed Wednesday in Daghestan, a Russian republic in the North Caucasus, the deputy interior minister said.
According to Andrei Novikov, "One of two killed people in Makhachkala this morning ... has been identified as Makasharipov."
Novikov said the terrorist was "the leader and founder of bandit groups that committed dozens of the most brutal terrorist attacks in Daghestan in the past few years."
