G8 countries are committed to combating terrorism jointly by ensuring a better information exchange about terrorists' movements across national borders, by assessing and responding to threats to transport infrastructure, and improving security on railroads and in the subway, the statement said.
The G8 has worked out common terminology for intelligence information and encouraged information about terrorists to be shared, the statement continued.
According to the document, this is crucial for efforts to prevent terrorists from making international trips and for obtaining intelligence information about anti-terrorist efforts from documents and other information sources.
The G8 also said governments and businessmen should work out plans to ensure that work continues without any interruptions, including through effective security plans for economic and financial systems.
People must be informed and warned if need be. The G8 countries have developed the best practice for dealing with terrorist attacks, in particular, those using chemical, biological and radiological weapons, according to the statement.
