"The total area of all facilities is three million sq. m. Moscow City will include multilevel shopping rows, a concert hall, offices, a hotel and an aqua park," Moscow Deputy Mayor Iosif Ordzhonikidze said.
He said that convenience for those who will be working or relaxing at the center was a priority in its construction.
"The issue concerning the energy supply to Moscow City has been settled as well," Ordzhonikidze said.
Moscow City is being constructed on the Krasnopresnenskaya embankment in the city's downtown area. The center unites 15 office, trade and hotel buildings. The multifunctional Federation building will be the most important in the center.
"The Federation complex will be the tallest building in Europe. Its height will be 340 meters - 420 meters including the spire. The building will house offices, restaurants and a hotel. A high speed elevator will go to the observation level, with an overview of Moscow," Moscow City Chief Architect Sergei Choban said.
Security issues were also a priority during the construction. Sergei Polonsky, president of the investing company in the project, said the building could stand a terrorist attack.
"The building is practically resistant to interior and exterior terrorist attacks. There is no parking at the bottom of the building where the bearing construction is based. Besides that, a highly durable material was used during the construction, which can resist a powerful explosion," he said.
