MOSCOW, July 19 (RIA Novosti) - Russian GDP was up 6.7% in June 2005 on June 2004, the Russian Economic Development and Trade Minister German Gref said at the president's session with the government Tuesday.
Gref said that in the first half of 2005 GDP increased 5.6%. He said GDP in June 2005 was up 6.7% on June 2004, and 0.9% on May 2005. Industrial production in June 2005 was up 6.9% on June 2004, 1.8% on May 2005 and 4% in the first half of the year.
The minister said the budget for the current year would be amended by July 26.
"June's results are optimistic," Gref said, adding that manufacturing and mechanical engineering were driving economic growth.
