BEIJIN, July 20 (RIA Novosti, Alexei Yefremov) - China is interested in studying Russia's experience in disaster medicine, head of the Federal Agency for Public Health and Human Services Vyacheslav Prohkorov told a press conference here Wednesday.

Prohkorov said that given the relatively frequent natural disasters in China, its authorities have expressed "great interest" in cooperating with Russia in disaster medicine.

"We have also agreed on cooperation in the area of emergency first aid, related to possible terrorist attacks, including a training network at the Olympics," Prohorov said. "Unfortunately, we have a lot of experience in this area."

Prokhorov was heading the Russian delegation to a session of the Russian-Chinese Intergovernmental Committee's sub-commission on healthcare cooperation that ended in the Chinese city of Dalian Tuesday.

The session focused on exporting Chinese-made medicine to Russia.

"Unfortunately, some medicines and drug substances, supplied to Russia under Chinese trademark, are often counterfeit and low quality and are by no means Chinese," Prokhorov said, adding that Russia is seeking Chinese investment into Russian medical technology production for China.

Russia will host the sub-commission's session in June of 2006
