Minsk, July 20 (RIA Novosti) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko does not want Belarus to cooperate on space projects with any country other than Russia. He made this clear during his visit Wednesday to the Energia company, a major Russian spacecraft manufacturer.
"Belarus is not planning to cooperate on space projects with the Europeans, the Americans, or [any] other states. Priority will be given to cooperation with Russia," the presidential press office quoted Lukashenko as saying. He thanked Russia for supporting Belarusian space scientists and for helping Belarus develop into a space power.
Lukashenko met today with Energia executives to discuss specific collaborative projects, including one to build an Earth probe.
