MOSCOW, July 21 (RIA Novosti) - The number of unemployed people in Russia reached 5,650,000 people in the second quarter of 2005, down 1.1% on the same period last year, the Federal State Statistics Service said Thursday.
The statistics service said the economically active population numbered 73,800,000, or 51% of the country's total population by June's end. Most of the work force is employed by large and medium-sized organizations.
