TASHKENT, July 22 (RIA Novosti, Abu-Ali Niyazmatov) - An Uzbek public TV channel will show a documentary Friday night about the Andizhan events, the Uzbek Prosecutor General's Office said.

"The film is based on a video tape seized from militants, investigation materials and other relevant facts," an office spokesman said.

In May, some 200 armed Muslim radicals seized control of the prison and the regional administration building in Andizhan in eastern Uzbekistan. Twelve policemen were killed and 234 weapons seized during the attack. The militants took 70 people hostage and killed 14 of them.

Uzbek security forces regained control of the city later. According to the Prosecutor General's Office, 187 people were killed in the turmoil, but independent sources put the number at more than 500.

Damage from the incident topped $300 million.

Police detained 105 people after the unrests.
