MISSION CONTROL, Korolev, July 28 (RIA Novosti) - The Discovery space shuttle with seven astronauts aboard docked at the International Space Station (ISS) at 15:17 Moscow time Thursday.
Discovery shuttle commander Eileen Collins controlled the shuttle "excellently."
The docking was announced at the flight control center in the Moscow Region to applause from heads of the Russian space sector, U.S. astronauts, and numerous journalists.
The opening of the Discovery's hatch is scheduled for 17:19 Moscow time.
