MOSCOW, July 30 (RIA Novosti) - More than 15 motor-yachts made by leading manufacturers will be presented at the Moscow's First Yacht Festival, which will open on Monday.
Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov attended the opening ceremony.
Moscow has needed such a festival for a long time, Luzhkov said. "Moscow is a port to five seas. From here you can sail to the White, Baltic, Caspian, Azov, and Black Seas".
Luzhkov promotes water tourism in the capital. "We have huge possibilities for travel on our country's rivers - the Volga, the Oka, the Kama, and of course the Moskva, as well as the northern rivers and canals", he said.
The First Moscow Yacht Festival will take place with sponsorship from the Moscow Administration "with the aim of strengthening the role of the Moskva River in the city's cultural life".
