PETROPAVLOVSK-KAMCHATSKY, August 1 (RIA Novosti, Oksana Guseva) - Rescuers evacuated two Turkish tourists and five Russians from the active Klyuchevsky volcano on the Kamchatka Peninsula, the local search and rescue unit said.
The tourists who had been caught in a typhoon were running short of food and failed to descend from the volcano. The rescuers found the group on the Klyuchevsky plateau at an altitude of 2,700 meters.
The tourists were evacuated to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. They are doing well.
