WASHINGTON, August 3 (RIA Novosti) - The Pentagon will observe the Commonwealth-2005 Russian-Chinese exercises, Brigadier General Carter Ham said Wednesday.
He said the United States will send its Pacific Command to observe the exercises, which could influence the region.
The first Russian-Chinese joint exercises will be conducted from August 18-25 of this year. The first stage, from August 18-19, will take place in the Far East military district involving chiefs of the Russian and Chinese general staffs.
The second and third stages will be conducted in China's northeast.
