MOSCOW, August 4 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian government will be closely monitoring Poland's inquiry into the attack on Russian diplomats' children in Warsaw July 31, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said Thursday.
Boris Malakhov, deputy head of the ministry's press office, confirmed the receipt Wednesday of a note from the Polish Foreign Department expressing "sincere regret" over the incident and assuring Moscow that all necessary judicial measures will be taken to identify the perpetrators and bring them to justice. Poland also promises to make sure Russian diplomats and their families are protected against similar attacks in the future.
Malakhov said the Russian government expected the Polish side to provide a detailed report of what was being done to investigate the incident and to prevent new cases of violence against its officials and their families.
