MOSCOW, August 5 (RIA Novosti) - The fifth Nashestviye open-air rock festival will run from August 5 to 7 in Emmaus, in the Tver region.
Festival organizer Leonid Land calls the event a "gathering of the whole country's progressive youth." The festival also features beach football and tennis tournaments, and drama skits.
On the music side, this year's festival will feature punk and ethnic music as well as rock.
Around 100 acts will perform on three stages. Russian rock bands Agatha Christie, Alisa, and DDT are headlining.
Gleb Samoylov, front man for Agatha Christie (who will open the festival at 21:00 Friday) said, "These kind of festivals bring out talented and original acts."
Up to 100,000 people are expected to attend the festival. Extensive security measures are being taken, including searches of the festival grounds by sniffer-dogs and metal detectors at entrances.
