MOSCOW, August 5 (RIA Novosti) - The remaining oxygen on board the stricken submersible in the Pacific Ocean will last for 24 hours taking into account the regeneration system, a Russian Navy representative said Friday. Igor Dygalo, an assistant to the Russian Navy's commander, said the regeneration system on board the submersible removed the carbon dioxide from air.

"The temperature on board the submersible is plus 5-10 degrees Celsius," he added.

"As part of the rescue operation, the KIL-168 ship and the Biryusa cable ship are currently conducting a sweep to try to free the submersible from cables and nets," Dygalo said.

According to Dygalo, the vessels are trying to catch and lift up the submersible using special cables.
