MOSCOW, August 5 (RIA Novosti) - A U.S. deep sea submersible, the Scorpion, will help the rescue operation for a Russian vessel stranded on the Pacific seabed, an assistant to the Russian Navy's commander said.
Igor Dygalo, who is also the senior spokesman of the Navy, said a U.S. plane would deliver the unmanned Scorpion vessel from the U.S. base in San Diego to help rescue Russia's AS-18 submersible.
"The second round of talks between the Russian and U.S. naval commanders came to this decision," Dygalo said.
He also said a British warplane would deliver additional rescue gear to Kamchatka on Saturday.
