Moscow, August 7 (RIA Novosti) - The Russian mini-submarine brought to the surface this morning after spending three days trapped deep in the Pacific will be examined by specialists once she has been trawled ashore, and will then undergo repairs and upgrading, officials at the Russian Navy HQ announced Sunday. The checkup will be performed to assess the vessel's technical condition and to establish the causes of the accident, they said.
The Russian submersible found herself pinned to the seabed 75 kilometers off the Kamchatka peninsular Thursday as her seven-member crew were having a training exercise. The craft is believed to have got entangled in fishing nets.
