MOSCOW, August 8 (RIA Novosti) - Moscow is taking extra security measures to provide protection for Polish Embassy employees and their families, a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
The measures were taken after a Polish diplomat was attacked and beaten Sunday night.
The diplomat has been hospitalized.
The ministry expressed its sympathies to the diplomat and said it regretted the incident.
Polish Consul General Tomasz Klimanski sent a letter Monday concerning the attack to the Russian Foreign Ministry.
