MAKHACHKALA, August 10 (RIA Novosti, Dekabr Beibutov) - A powerful makeshift explosive device was detonated by bomb squad officials in the Daghestani city of Buinaksk, the Russian North-Caucasian republic's Interior Ministry said Wednesday.
Ministry press service head Colonel Abdulmanap Musayev said two zinc-coated buckets with wires had been discovered in a heap of rubbish Tuesday at 10:55 a.m. Moscow time (6:55 a.m. GMT).
Sappers found the makeshift bomb was comprised of salpetre, other explosive components, detonators, nuts, bolts and reinforcement bars. The buckets were covered with PU-foam.
The sappers destroyed the device at a special site.
