CHISINAU, August 12 (RIA Novosti, Vladimir Novosadyuk) - Moldova has a positive trade balance only with Russia and the United States, the Moldovan National Statistics Bureau said Friday.
Russia is Moldova's largest trade partner, accounting for 35.2% of all Moldovan exports and 11.8% of imports, and is one of the two countries the republic has a positive trade balance with.
In the first six months of 2005, exports to Russia grew by 10.2% compared to the same period of 2004, reaching $178.5 million; imports grew by 16.6%, reaching $111.6 million.
Exports to the U.S. in the first six months of 2005 totaled $26.6 million, and imports $21.1 million.
With all other countries, Moldova's imports were higher than its exports.
