MOSCOW, August 15 (RIA Novosti) - Russian-Chinese relations are at an unprecedented high level, a deputy foreign minister of Russia said Monday.
Speaking at a VJ Day celebration in the Chinese Embassy in Moscow, Alexander Alekseyev said: "Russia and China are united by common views of cooperation and partnership internationally and in trade and economic relations," he said.
"We have common approaches to forming a global order in the 21st century," Alekseyev said. He added that Russia and China advocated a multi-polar world based on respect for international law and the supremacy of the UN Charter.
"This cooperation will continue. We are looking forward to the 10th summit meeting of the heads of governments from both countries. In addition, China will celebrate the Year of Russia in 2006 and Russia will hold the Year of China in 2007," Alekseyev said.
