MOSCOW, August 15 (RIA Novosti) - Events to mark the 450th anniversary of Bashkortostan's voluntary annexation to Russia were the focus of President Vladimir Putin's meeting Monday with visiting Bashkir President Murtaza Rakhimov.
Economic issues were also on the agenda. The Bashkir leader assured Putin that the republic's economic performance, including in agriculture, would be at least as good this year as last year.
