ZHUKOVSKY (Moscow region), August 16 (RIA Novosti) - The lack of funds is the main impediment to modernization of Russian military aircraft, the Tupolev aircraft research and design bureau's deputy director said Tuesday.
Valery Solozobov said work to modernize the TU-22M-3, TU-95MS, and TU-160 strike aircraft, and the TU-142M ASW aircraft was underway. He said strike aircraft, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles and other aviation systems would also be upgraded.
