Twenty joint exercises were held at Bulgarian and Romanian naval ranges and in neutral waters on August 16-18 to practice anti-submarine defense, repulsion of attacks, monitoring of movements of civilian planes and vessels and rescue operations.
"The [Russian] Yamal amphibious assault ship organized and supervised exercises of visual signaling, cargo handover and search and rescue of men overboard," the press service said.
Blackseafor commanders visited Brigadier Admiral George Georgiev, the Varna naval base commander and met with the Varna mayor and prefect. They discussed the Blackseafor role in combating terrorism and promoting multilateral links between the Black Sea states.
The Blackseafor ships will leave Varna on August 22 and head for Eregli (Turkey).
