SOCHI, August 22 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Strategic Aviation commander, Lieutenant-General Igor Khvorov said that flying in a Tu-160 (Blackjack) strategic bomber was safer than driving.
Before a meeting with the president at the Bocharov Ruchei residence, Khvorov briefed journalists on details of Vladimir Putin's flight on board the Tu-160, and said that security measures during the flight had been unprecedented.
On Tuesday, August 16, Putin observed tests of a new long-range cruise missile and piloted a Tu-160 strategic bomber.
