Deploying weapons in outer space as dangerous as lifting restrictions on use of nuclear weapons - defense minister

QINGDAO (China), August 23 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Defense Minister Sergei Ivanov said deploying weapons in outer space was as dangerous as lifting restrictions on the use of nuclear weapons.

"Russia has been strongly opposed to deploying military systems in outer space," Ivanov said, responding to American officials who said such a move was possible. "If they will start deploying weapons, this will certainly prompt a reaction," the minister said.
