MOSCOW, August 23 (RIA Novosti) - Former Yukos CEO Mikhail Khodorkovsky has begun a hunger strike to support his colleague Platon Lebedev, the former head of Menatep, who was moved to an isolation cell for seven days, Anton Drel, Khodorkovsky's lawyer, said.
Khodorkovsky called Lebedev's transfer a repressive act.
Another Khodorkovsky lawyer, Genrikh Padva, said his client would continue the hunger strike with no food or drink until Lebedev's release from the isolation cell.
Yury Kalinin, the head of the Federal Penitentiary Service, said Lebedev was transferred to the isolation cell for rudeness. "If he breaks the rules, we will punish him again."
