MOSCOW, August 25 (RIA Novosti) - Russia's economic growth is a result of market reforms rather than high world oil prices, a prominent economic expert said.
"I think the Russian economy is showing big progress," Yevgeny Yasin, the academic supervisor at the Higher School of Economics, said Thursday at the 32nd annual conference of the European Financial Association.
Association Chairman Christian Wolff said that holding a regular conference in Moscow was recognition that Russia had made good progress.
"Transparency and compliance with the law are factors of further development," Wolff added.
Conference organizers said some 380 people had attended the meeting, where about 180 reports had been presented. Zurich will host the next conference.
