MOSCOW, August 26 (RIA Novosti) - The launch of a Rokot carrier rocket with a double-purpose spacecraft is scheduled Friday at the Plesetsk space center in the Arkhangelsk region in European Russia's north, a Russian Space Agency Roscosmos spokesman said Friday.
The spokesman said the launch was scheduled for 10:34p.m. (6:34p.m. GMT), but could be postponed by two minutes.
"The Monitor-E will be orbited at 12:06a.m. August 27," he said.
The Monitor-E was built at the Khrunichev center state enterprise. It is designed to fulfill both civilian and defensive tasks. Russian Space Force crews will launch the Rokot.
