MOSCOW, August 29 (RIA Novosti) - Regions will be abolished and a three-tiered executive system, "government-district-village," established in Kyrgyzstan, President Kurbanbek Bakiyev said Monday.
The Kyrgyz presidential press service said a working meeting of the president and regional governors, Bishkek and Osh mayors, and other senior government officials had been held today.
"The conference discussed the development of administrative reform, in particular, abolishing regions and regional structures, harvesting...and summarizing the first six months," the press service said.
Bakiyev said the reform, which will eliminate redundancy, should be carried out gradually, accounting for economic feasability.
