MOSCOW, July 1 (RIA Novosti) - Training exercises involving ships and naval aircraft were successfully conducted during the active phase of the Northern and Baltic Fleets' ongoing military exercises in the North Atlantic.
Captain Igor Dygalo, the head of the Russian Navy's press service, said the extensive exercises would also include missile, artillery, and torpedo firing. Naval aircraft based on board the Peter the Great nuclear-powered heavy missile cruiser are continuing their exercises.
Dygalo said the Northern Fleet was represented in the exercises by the Admiral Kuznetsov aircraft carrier, the Peter the Great, the Admiral Chabanenko frigate, and the Admiral Ushakov fleet destroyer.
The tanker Sergei Osipov and the rescue tug Altai are attached to the aircraft carrier group.
The Neustrashymy and Pylky vessels and the tanker Olekma are representing the Baltic Fleet.
