MOSCOW, August 29 (RIA Novosti) - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had a telephone conversation with U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice Monday.
The Russian Foreign Ministry said the conversation highlighted international issues of mutual interest, including the Korean nuclear problem and efforts to resolve the situation surrounding Iran's nuclear program. Lavrov and Rice also discussed arrangements for the 60th jubilee session of the UN General Assembly.
Lavrov informed Rice about the major results of the CIS summit in Kazan and agreements regarding the Common Economic Space, the Foreign Ministry said.
The two diplomats spoke about dates for upcoming high-profile Russian-American meetings.
