MOSCOW, August 31 (RIA Novosti) - Russian tennis stars Marat Safin, Nikolai Davidenko, Mikhail Yuzhny and Igor Andreyev have confirmed they will play in the Kremlin Cup, a spokesman for Russia's leading tennis event said Wednesday.
The event will be held at Moscow's Olimpiisky sports complex on October 8-16.
The main rivals for the Russians at the tournament will be this year's French Open finalist Mariano Puerta (Argentina), Dominik Hrbaty (Slovakia), last year's Kremlin Cup runner-up Greg Rusedski (Britain), Maxim Mirny (Belarus), Filippo Volandri (Italy), Nicolas Kiefer (Germany), Andrei Pavel (Romania), Victor Hanescu (Romania) and many others.
There will be $1 million in prize money at stake in the men's event, with the winner in the singles taking home $142,000.
