MOSCOW, August 2 (RIA Novosti) - Electricity generation in Russia has grown by 2% year-on-year since the beginning of 2005, to 615.6 billion kWh, the Ministry of Industry and Energy said in a report Friday.
According to the report, 68.5 billion kWh of electricity was generated in August alone.
The amount of heat energy generated in Russia January through August totaled 333.8 million Gcal (1.397 GJ) - also a 2% increase on last year's figure.
